The first and foremost goal of the establishment of Gustav – Children’s Clinic is to provide professional care in the field of pediatric orthopedics.

We make every effort to ensure that the orthopedic consultation with our pediatric orthopedists is based on the latest medical knowledge and takes place in a friendly atmosphere. Orthopedics is a general specialty that authorizes the treatment of adults and children, but our team of specialists was formed to include orthopedic surgeons whose experience, interests and personal aptitude particularly predispose them to work with children. Our team includes six pediatric orthopedic surgeons with diverse professional interests, which include scoliosis, postural and other spinal conditions, foot defects, hip dysplasia or sports injuries. Each of our orthopedic doctors continues to practice in the hospital.

Pediatric orthopedics at GUSTAV Children’s Clinic

At our clinic, we provide orthopedic services for both infants and older children. We specialize in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and defects, including:

– Developmental hip dysplasia,

– horsefoot,

– Forefoot adduction and other foot defects,

– Curvatures of the spine, including scoliosis,

– chest deformities,

– postural defects,

– injuries, including sports injuries

– Diagnosis of joint pain of unknown origin.

If necessary, orthopedic doctors perform ultrasound examinations during the visit, which allow for detailed diagnosis and quick help with injuries. We conduct periodic orthopedic follow-up(orthopedic balance) at key stages of a child’s development.
We have our own plaster room adapted to the needs of infants. We are one of the centers in the country treating the most children with clubfoot using the Ponseti method.
We know how important it is to take a holistic view of the patient. We have built a medical team that is able to comprehensively address the needs of small orthopedic patients. Our orthopedic physicians collaborate with other specialists on the team and, if necessary, the diagnosis is followed up by pediatric neurologists or physiotherapy recommendations are made by physiotherapy specialists with the appropriate profile.
