Pediatric physiotherapists

GUSTAV Children’s Clinic was established to support parents in comprehensive care of their child from the first days of life. We specialize in preventive health care and the diagnosis and treatment of various musculoskeletal dysfunctions and developmental disorders.

GUSTAV Clinic’s team of experienced physiotherapists is a guarantee of professional therapeutic support for your child, at every stage of his life.

What does a pediatric physiotherapist do?

A qualified physiotherapist independently conducts, among other things, physiotherapy assessments and nursing/infant instruction, as well as designing specific therapeutic measures and providing therapy to the child.

As part of the physiotherapy evaluation in infants, among other things, the level of muscle tone is checked and developmental achievements are verified (in the context of developmental windows for particular skills). In older children, the entire musculoskeletal system is inspected to detect any orthopedic abnormalities, including scoliosis and postural defects.

Physiotherapy is an essential part of the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, psychomotor disorders or genetic defects affecting the locomotor system.

In any situation that requires wider consultation or implementation of interdisciplinary treatment – our physiotherapists have unlimited access to orthopedists and neurologists, among others, and you are assured that your child will receive optimal and individually designed assistance.

What therapy methods do pediatric physiotherapists use?

Pediatric physiotherapists at the GUSTAV Clinic work on the basis of the most modern methods, recognized by experienced specialists around the world.

These are primarily:

  • NDT Bobath Basic and Baby physiotherapy
  • FITS method (Functional Individual Scoliosis Therapy, which is recommended by the International Society for Orthopedic and Rehabilitative Treatment of Scoliosis).
  • BSPTS method (Barcelona School of Scoliosis Therapy)
  • PNF (Prioprioceptive Neuromuscular Fascilitation).
  • hand therapy.

Our physiotherapists are also qualified to provide kinesiotaping and IS (Sensory Integration) therapy, as well as hand therapy, among other therapies.

Modern offices for physiotherapy at GUSTAV Clinic

Our pediatric physiotherapists have at their exclusive disposal modern and well-equipped offices and a physiotherapy room. All therapeutic equipment and tools are certified and can be safely used in physiotherapy for children of different ages and disorders.
